Complex PTSD (C-PTSD)
Have you noticed yourself repeatedly experiencing emotional dysregulation or maladaptive responses to life events, and struggled to understand the source of these patterns? You may be experiencing Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Unlike what we traditionally refer to as PTSD, C-PTSD isn’t rooted in a single traumatic event, but rather in what some refer to as “small-t” traumas—at times seemingly innocuous, at other times more overtly traumatic–everyday, repeated occurrences that can leave a lasting impact. My psychodynamic approach can help you identify the experiences that were traumatic for you, understand how they are impacting your life now, and develop new responses that will help you change negative behavior patterns.
